Honest Remnants
~
A fallen feather under pressure to still take flight
A native forever calling for everyone’s satisfied lives
To be interactive in actions reaffirming everyone’s pride
Gathering tools for the incline of the mountain we climb
Seen my share of this, and been through enough of that
Prayed to wait and make memories that could only last
Torn apart so much by so many I don’t know what I have
Wanted so many to advance or, at least, have a chance
The unforced laughs stamped clearly as handle with care
Part of the fix for a tormented mind needing repair
Tried to forget but than I’m reminded to keep aware
Walking down roads leading to neither here nor there
Dared to share but unprepared for backlashing tempers
Payback unnecessary for those type of services rendered
No need to review what is painstakingly remembered
My only wish remains we find what can make us better
